We are committed to serving the communities that we live in. In 2005, we made a major change in our business model as far as where we decided to put our self-promotional dollars. We analyzed our budget and cut the items that were just not getting a lot of bang for the buck. We then re-allocated these dollars to go to organizations we believe in - most of which we have supported in the past on some level. We have listed some of the sponsorships and donations that we have made over the past few years below. There are so many great organizations to support, and we hope to grow this list as we grow our business.
http://www.habitat.org In 2005, we donated $500, and in 2006 we donated nearly $1000.00. In 2007 we hope to contribute our time and skills as well. Keep an eye out for possible building volunteer opportunities!
http://www.twincitiesquorum.com In 2006, we became members of Quorum, the Twin Cities GLBT Chamber of commerce. This is a great group to network in, and we recommend it to everyone, not just those who own a business and/or are self-employed. It is a great way to keep in touch with what is going on in the community as well as to get to know those in our community and the services they provide. In 2006, we volunteered at the Quorum Pride booth, and we sponsored two new members. In 2007, we hope to get involved at a higher level and become a Cornerstone Member.
http://www.pfundonline.org In 2007, through our networking at Quorum, we became aware of this great opportunity help our community. We donated $1000 to the PFund Scholarship Program. This year, 19 scholars will be receiving scholarships through PFund. If you know any scholars looking for a scholarship, please let them know about PFund!
http://www.diningoutforlife.com Dining Out for Life is a national event in which 1 day a year local participating restaurants pledge to donate a certain percentage of their proceeds to help fight AIDS/HIV. The local group that organizes Dining Out for Life is the Aliveness Project. Always a fan for Dining Out for Life, in 2006 we became Copper Kettle sponsors ($1,000 sponsorship level). Since eating is a definite skill of ours, we decided to have a marathon day and ate at 8 different restaurants starting at 6:30 AM and going until after midnight! We sent approximately 1200 vouchers out by mail to friends and clients, and offered to donate an additional $1.00 for every e-mail we received from someone who had also participated in the event. We raised approximately another $150. In 2007 we look forward to doing this again!!! This year we hope to make it to 9 restaurants, and we hope that to double the e-mail responses. Keep your eyes open for our eating itinerary and join us on April 26th, 2007!
http://www.hrc.org We have sponsored HRC events in the past, and 2006 was no exception. We sponsored the 2006 Tee Up for Equality golf tournament. In 2006 we became Federalist Club members to help increase our support for this organization.
